The global top 10 searches are shown above. 2014 is certainly not perfect. There are people we loved who passed away. We are haunted by Ebola and ISIS. The plane crushes also broke our hearts, especially the people in our country. Luckily, there are things that made the world better. The World Cup is one of the exciting event of the year and the Ice Bucket Challenge has increased the awareness of ALS disease. Then there are the super-addictive yet super-annoying Flappy Bird which killed hours and hours of my time. For consumer electronics, Apple’s iPhone 6 tops the global list. Samsung Galaxy S5 got the second place and it was followed by Nexus 6, Moto G and the Samsung Galaxy Note 4.

You also can check the top trends according to the your country instead of the global list. In Malaysia, the top 5 searches are MH370, World Cup 2014, MH17, Astro Awani and Perodua Axia respectively.
